LITHIUM ION BATTERY TECHNOLOGY
What is it? Lithium is the lightest, most energy dense metal on
the periodic table making it the best source for portable batteries.
Why? In the process of using and recharging batteries, very little lithium
is 'spent' giving Li-ion battery packs a much longer life span compared to
nickel-based battery packs. Their shelf life is very long - discharge is only
5% per month (against 10% for Ni-MH and 20% for Ni-CD) meaning that
topped up batteries stay charged up and the tool is ready for work!
